The Protestant church has been founded.

It was not the plan of Luther, to establish a new church.

But it became obvious, that the church of Rome began to modify the message of the gospel. Especially the purchase of the letters of indulgence has been criticized by Luther.

People could buy such letters. The money has been used to build the St. Peter's Basilica.

The "indulgence" should effect a lowering of the penalties in hell - for your relatives and for yourself after death.

But this, of course, is a real deception of the believers. Jesus shed his blood at the cross to pay for our sins. A follower of Jesus has nothing to fear after his death, because Jesus has already payed for his sins.

To offer a letter of indulgence is totally improper.

After Luther had translated the Bible in the German language, all could see, how much the church of Rome did mislead the believers.

Many did not accept any more the directives from Rome. From there on the believers followed the motto: " We do not want to be led by Rome, we want to follow our own conscience."

And so they put themselves under the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
